British Army (ARU) vs Portugal National Team
Join us on the 28th of March at 16:00 for a great Rugby Union Match at Browns Training Resort between the British Army and the Portuguese National Team. The game marks a repeat of last year´s match between both sides. Join us for the after match event at Browns Sports Bar & Restaurant.

Japan triumph at FIFA Ballon d’Or 2011
Browns would like to congratulate Japan Women´s National Football Team for their deserved recognition at FIFA Ballon d’Or 2011 for best players and coach award. Japan’s Homare Sawa claimed her first FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year award at the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala held at the Zurich Kongresshaus last week. Japan’s women’s national team coach Norio Sasaki was the winner of the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football. The Nadeshiko, memorably claimed their maiden FIFA Women’s World Cup with a thrilling performance, twice coming back from behind to eventually defeat the USA on penalties after extra time.

RFU U20s Successful Camp
RFU U20s squad enjoyed a four day intensive training camp at Browns. Hard work and team bonding were key components to a successful warm weather camp. Browns would like to wish the team a successful season begining with defending their six nations grand slam title.

Browns Assembles Exterior Gym in 24 hours as Outside Gym is damaged by isolated fire incident


Browns outside high performance gym suffered serious damage in a fire on Sunday 11th December. This wooden construction was isolated away from any accommodation and the main areas of Browns. The next day a temporary 150 sq metre gym was erected and installed with suitable equipment next to the damaged area in time for usage by the England Under 20 squad who arrived Sunday. A new High Performance Gym is scheduled to be built and all new equipment installed before the end of January 2012. Browns wish to thank all the local companies (especially Oceanico who loaned the Gym equipment) and our own staff for their assistance in our time of need to recover from this situation.

New Record - 46 Fixtures in October
In October, Browns organised a total of 46 fixtures in various sports. 30 Alone where for Rugby Schools from UK, Europe, and South Africa. This has broken the previous record of 32 fixtures of October 2010.

British Army - World Champions
Browns would like to congratulate the British Army for winning the International Defence Rugby Competition in New Zealand and Australia. Once again the Army proved their metal by performing magnificently beating every opposition through hard work and dedication.
We had the pleasure of hosting the ARU Senior Team this year organising two competitive fixtures. One was against the Portuguese National Side in which more than a thousand fan showed up to cheer for their respective team.

Ireland´s Double World Champion
Ireland’s paracycling double world champion Mark Rohan ended a 10 day training preparation at Browns taking advantage of the facilities onsite and the surrounding landscape that were ideal for H1 Training. Joined by colleague and friend Enda Smith competing for C3 biking preparation.

Open Day 2011
On the 15th of October, Browns Health Club & Spa organised a free entry day to demonstrate all facilities, classes, and activities. The day has proven to be famous among many as we welcomed over a 100 participants utilizing the facilities productively.

Super Sand Eagles Impress at Ravenna World Cup

Browns hosted the National Team of Nigeria of Beach Soccer in their preperation for 2011 Ravenna World Cup. In which, they have impressed many by qualifying through the group stage and pushing the heavyweights of Brazil into extra time.

International Sports Tour
During the period of 12 days, Browns organised 36 fixtures for 146 Atheltes from South Africa divided into the three sports of Rugby, Hockey, and Netball for U19, U16, U15, U14. We have invited teams from around the country, Spain, Gibraltar, and UK to play their correspondence opposition. A special thanks goes to all the teams that contributed in this great event.

Best of luck for the Season
We would like to wish all the teams that have chosen Browns as their preferred destination for pre-season camp the best of luck for the upcoming season.Your games will be shown live at Browns Sports Bar & Restaurant. For sure we will be monitoring your success and development through the upcoming months. In addition to the grassroots groups we had this July, Browns had the pleasure of also hosting Aberdeen, Bath Rugby, Gloucester Rugby, and Nigeria U20 in the month of July. The latter chose an 11 day camp for their preparation for the U20 world Cup in Colombia and they managed to kick off the tournament with a 5-0 win against Guatemala. Stay tune to our news and updates for further success stories.

New Indoor Recovery Ice Bath
We have just finished the construction of the newly built-in Recovery Ice Bath that can fit up to five Rugby players with a meter high ice cold water to allow for the maximum effect of recovery treatment.

New High Performance Gym
We are proud to announce the expansion of our high performance gym to double its size to 300m2. This entailed a total refurbishment of the current material and additional equipment and specifications in accordance with the best analysts of the game.

Ballymun Best Barr´s
Browns hosted Ballymun Kickhams in June for an intensive training camp. The following month the team won the All-Ireland Féile which is the biggest competition in the country for youth GAA- there are 8 divisions and they have won div 1 which is the highest standard. As quoted in the Irish Examiner ´´THREE days of intensive training under the blue skies of Portugal paid a handsome dividend for Ballymun Kickhams who saw off the challenge of St Finbarr’s in the Division 1 final of the Bus Eireann Féile Peile final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday...´´

The World Champions were Here!
Congratulations to Japan for winning the Women´s World Cup 2011 in Germany after defeating the heavy weights of Sweden, Germany, and USA. In March Browns welcomed the Japanese National Women’s football team for a 12 day training camp for their pre-season training. This year is the first time Japan has been invited for the Algarve Cup, therefore due to the new appearance they chose the exclusive use of our facilities. Japan played 4 official matches and 2 friendly fixtures held at Browns against Romania and China during their 12 days stay.
